The T22 carries three things that make the difference, and that you will not find on a runabout. Surf Gate II deploys a plate along one side of the hull to shift the wake sideways: the wave forms on one side only, clean and long, and flips from port to starboard in three seconds without stopping the boat or moving passengers. The Power Wedge III is a submerged foil controlled from the helm: it sinks the stern and sets wave height to the centimetre, so we can go from a beginner wave to a hollow one for an experienced rider between two runs. And 1,100 kilos of ballast across three bags is quite literally the displaced water — without it, there is no wave to surf.
A large-diameter propeller completes the setup, generating the wave at low revs, which cuts both noise and fuel burn. On a boat running several hours a day, that changes the experience on board as much as the running cost.
